What is XGSLab?
XGSLab (eXtended Grounding Software Laboratory) is advanced electromagnetic simulation software used to analyse and design power systems, grounding systems, electromagnetic interference, and lightning protection.
Core Capabilities
XGSLab provides precise analysis for:
- Grounding and earthing systems – Design and analysis of grounding grids and electrodes
- Power system analysis – Network analysis, fault calculations, and current distribution
- Electromagnetic interference – Assessment of interference between systems like power lines and pipelines
- Lightning protection design – Evaluation of structures’ protection from direct lightning strikes
Key Modules
The software includes seven main modules that can work together in one integrated package:

| GSA | Grounding system analysis at low frequency with soil resistivity analysis |
| GSA_FD | Advanced frequency-domain grounding analysis for general conditions up to 100 MHz |
| XGSA_FD | Analysis of above-ground and underground systems in the frequency domain (extends GSA_FD capabilities) |
| XGSA_TD | Time-domain analysis for transient scenarios (lightning, switching events) |
| NETS | Network solver for power systems using phase components method |
| SHIELD | 3D lightning shielding design using Rolling Sphere and Eriksson methods |
| SHIELD_A | Advanced lightning shielding for structures of any shape and height |
