The Opportunity
We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Brisbane team.
This is not a standard design-only consulting role. It’s a technically deep, hands-on position combining:
- Advanced engineering design.
- Field-based testing and investigation.
- Direct client engagement.
- Proposal and report development.
- Technical leadership and mentoring.
You will develop specialist expertise in a niche, high-value discipline while working on diverse projects across QLD and Australia.
What You’ll Be Doing
You will work closely with a highly skilled team of engineers and technicians, contributing to:
Technical Engineering & Analysis
- Earthing system design and performance assessment.
- Lightning protection system design and compliance verification.
- Electrical shock risk assessments and incident investigations.
- Electromagnetic induction and interference studies.
- Advanced problem solving across instrumentation, power, communications and civil interfaces.
Site & Field Work
- Site-based electrical testing across Queensland.
- Measurement and interpretation of field data.
- Collaboration with contractors, asset owners and project stakeholders.
- Maintaining strong WHS compliance and safety leadership onsite.
Consulting & Communication
- Proposal development and scope definition
- High-quality technical report writing
- Client engagement and technical presentations
- Supporting and mentoring junior engineers
This is a hybrid role blending office-based engineering with regular site work and travel.
What You’ll Bring
- Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 5+ years’ relevant engineering experience (consulting, utilities, mining, or industrial environments preferred).
- Strong analytical and critical thinking capability.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail and technical accuracy.
- A proactive, team-oriented mindset.
- Strong commitment to work health and safety.
- Current Australian driver’s licence.
- Australian permanent residency or valid work visa (please include visa status in application).
- Willingness to travel and undertake site-based work.
Desirable (but not Essential)
- Experience with DIgSILENT PowerFactory or similar modelling tools
- Understanding of HV and LV power systems.
- Background in utilities, mining, renewables, or heavy industry.
- Experience managing complex technical tasks independently.
- Experience mentoring or supporting small technical teams.
