About the Role
We’re on the lookout for a Senior Electrical Engineer with strong experience in Power Systems Analysis, Insulation Coordination, Arc Flash Studies and Substation Design.
This role is an exciting mix of technical consulting, mentoring, client interaction, and field work, offering the opportunity to lead projects and shape industry-leading solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver technical electrical engineering services across high-impact projects.
- Proactively engage and liaise with customers to develop proposals, define problems and generate new business.
- Provide expertise in power systems analysis and modelling, including load and fault studies, harmonic analysis, arc flash and insulation coordination.
- Use engineering software, including PowerFactory, PSCAD and similar tools.
- Manage projects including scope, budget, schedule and quality.
- Develop detailed technical reports and proposals.
- Conduct earthing testing and assessments at client sites across Australia.
- Collaborate with clients and internal teams to deliver innovative outcomes.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers to support their professional growth.
About You
You’ll thrive in this role if you’re a technically driven engineer with strong analytical skills, excellent communication, and a passion for problem-solving.
You’ll bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
- Full working rights in Australia and a valid Australian driver’s licence.
- Proven experience in power systems analysis, modelling and design, or substation design.
- Proficiency in engineering software tools such as PowerFactory, PSCAD, or EMTP/ATP.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a passion for delivering high-quality solutions.
- Ability to balance office and site-based work, including travel.
- RPEQ or RPEV registration (or eligibility).
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a dynamic team environment.
Bonus skills:
- Experience across multiple technical domains in power systems.
- Consulting or utility sector experience.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams and projects.
- Expert-level competency in power systems analysis, modelling and design, or substation design.
